What began as a simple gesture of kindness has grown into a powerful tradition at Centurion Country Club. In 2023, a close group of friends led by Wayne De Wet decided to raise awareness for children with cancer by wearing pink to golf on the first Saturday of every month.
Their heartfelt idea quickly spread. Soon, golfers, residents and visitors all joined in, transforming the club into a sea of pink and creating a strong sense of unity and purpose. What started as an awareness initiative soon blossomed into something even greater. The golfing community began contributing financially and proudly chose Cupcakes of Hope as their beneficiary.
The beloved Pink Day has now become a proud tradition at Centurion Country Club. It continues to grow each month, bringing people together and shining a powerful spotlight on the brave children fighting cancer.
In April 2024, the group handed over a remarkable R100 000 to Cupcakes of Hope.
In November 2025, they once again showed their generosity by donating R110 000 to support these little warriors.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the golfers who embraced Cupcakes of Hope with so much enthusiasm and kindness. Your compassion has not only uplifted families but has also inspired other golf clubs across the country to reach out and ask how they can get involved.
We invite and challenge more golf courses to join this beautiful movement. With every swing, every round and every shared moment on the fairway, we can create even more hope for children fighting cancer.
