Meet Our Warriors
Three Brave Children Whose Lives Were Touched by Your Kindness
Princess Janique
Age 8
We first met Princess Janique in 2018 when she was only a few months old and bravely fighting Stage 3 Neuroblastoma. Over the years, she endured countless treatments and surgeries, including a tracheostomy to help her breathe.
After six years of waiting and searching for answers, a team of world-renowned specialists in Memphis, Tennessee finally agreed to perform the complex, life saving surgery she needed.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Cupcakes of Hope community, we raised over R61 560 to help cover the family’s shortfalls and day to day living expenses in the USA while Janique underwent treatment and recovery.
In January 2025, Janique underwent two major surgeries at St. Jude’s Hospital and both were a success. She returned home surrounded by love, hope, and a renewed chance at life.
Janique still faces challenges and will undergo another operation in early 2026, but she continues to inspire us with her courage, resilience, and bright fighting spirit.
Thank you for helping give Princess Janique comfort, strength, and hope during her healing journey.
Kgosi
Age 4
Kgosi is a bright and bubbly little boy who dreams of becoming a pilot one day. He loves toy cars, flying games, and making everyone around him smile. But behind his joyful personality is an incredibly tough battle, after nearly three years of treatment for leukemia, his cancer returned.
To continue fighting, Kgosi urgently needed a life-saving chemotherapy drug called Erwinase, which was not available through public hospitals. The cost was overwhelming for his family, but thanks to our incredible volunteers and supporters, we raised R150 000 in just over a month, giving Kgosi access to the treatment he desperately needed.
His mother shared this heartfelt message with us:
“Words cannot explain the gratitude I have. You came through during the most difficult time of my life and showed up with love and compassion. Thank you for being the hope that you are. Your dedication is beautiful, and the work you do changes lives. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping save my son.”
Thank you for giving Kgosi’s family renewed hope during their difficult journey.
Amogelang
Age 9
Amogelang is a courageous young boy who dreams of becoming a doctor one day. He loves soccer, enjoys making people smile, and faces every challenge with remarkable bravery. He was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2024 and later suffered a relapse, which meant he urgently needed a bone marrow transplant.
For Mandela Day we asked South Africans to donate R67 to honour Madiba’s legacy and help save Amogelang’s life. With incredible perseverance and support from our community, we reached our goal of R67 000. On 15 August 2025 he successfully underwent his transplant.
His mother shared this message of gratitude:
“I want to send heartfelt gratitude to you and your team for doing such great work. We do not know where we would be without Cupcakes of Hope. Thank you for all the support and prayers.”
Today, Amogelang continues his recovery journey with strength and hope.
