A Heartfelt Affair: Cupcakes of Hope Fundraiser Luncheon in Mosselbay

In the coastal town of Mosselbay, the Pinnacle Point events venue recently played host to a truly heartwarming affair — a fundraiser luncheon in support of Cupcakes of Hope, hosted by Ronél Steyn. Despite the weather proving a little treacherous, the event drew 125 generous souls, united by a common cause — to raise funds for childhood cancer patients and their families.

The Mosselbay community showcased its generosity as donations poured in from local businesses. From a thrilling Botelierskop game drive to tempting butcher delights and accommodation vouchers, the support was overwhelming. The community’s spirit truly shone as they rallied around the cause, contributing to a grand total of R146,000.

The highlight of the day was the auction, where unique items and experiences found new homes. RonĂ©l’s exceptional efforts brought the World Rugby Championship Winners, the Springboks, into the mix. A rugby ball signed by the champions fetched an impressive R40,000, while a signed jersey, carrying 7 signatures, raised a fitting R7,000. The auction wasn’t just about sports memorabilia; exceptional wines and other coveted prizes added to the excitement.

As is customary in every fundraiser, the real stars of the day were the cancer warriors. Their stories resonated, bringing tears and reaffirming the importance of the cause. The event, despite its joyous atmosphere, served as a poignant reminder of the battles these children and their families face daily.

A special mention must go to Ronel, the driving force behind this extraordinary event. Her unwavering dedication and, as we like to think, angelic touch, created an atmosphere of sweetness and style. Ronel’s ability to secure the Springboks’ signatures on a rugby ball exemplifies the lengths she went to ensure the success of this noble cause.

The Cupcakes of Hope Fundraiser Luncheon in Mosselbay was not just an event; it was a testament to the power of community, compassion, and commitment. As the funds raised will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of childhood cancer patients, we salute Ronel and the Mosselbay community for their collective generosity and spirit. Let this be a reminder that, together, we can make a difference.
