The Joberg2c is the longest mountain biking stage race in South Africa. It takes place over nine days and covers approximately 900 kilometers, from Heidelberg to Scottburgh on the KwaZulu-Natal coast.
Thank you to Caren, Francois, Tomas and Cilo for taking up the challenge to ride joberg2c to help raise funds for children with cancer.
The funds raised will be used for two of our projects:
ANDREA’S WISH: Andrea was diagnosed with cancer when she was only 8 years old and unfortunately lost her eyesight. She is currently in remission, thriving at school and has received many awards. However, she has to put in double the amount of work because everything has to be done in Braille. Her wish is for a Braillenote Touch Plus which would speed up her work, make study easier, and therefore enable her to perform even better. This device cost approximately R100 000.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY CARE BAGS: Last year we delivered 2600 Activity Care Bags to little cancer patients at all the pediatric oncology hospitals in South Africa. These activity care bags help children develop their fine motor skills, we are hoping to deliver even more this year.
