In celebrating Mandela Day, Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer build the biggest cupcake mosaic in the Southern Hemisphere. This took place on the 13th of July 2013 at the Fourways Mall in Johannesburg. Thousands of cupcakes (5000) were iced by volunteers and cancer patients. This was an opportunity for some of the cancer beneficiaries to give back and do their 67 minutes for Mandela Day. The cancer warriors started packing the cupcakes on a cupcake mosaic which consisted of 67 rows from left to right, this represented Mr Nelson Mandela’s 67 years of service to his country.
It was a very busy and hectic morning, but everyone enjoyed themselves and had so much fun in icing the cupcakes. The money raised from selling the cupcakes will be donated to The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Trust.
On the 24th of September 2011 we set a new WORLD RECORD for the MOST Cupcakes on a Display (21 000), all in aid of Kids with Cancer.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and on the 7th September 2013 we built the World’s Tallest Cupcake Tower at Fourways Mall. It stood 8m tall!!
Thank you to Fourways Mall and all their sponsors for creating awareness and raising funds for “Cupcakes 4 Kids with CANCER”.
